Today was an amazing day! Together with the internationally acclaimed design thinker Lotfi EL-Ghandouri and members of our extended community here in Athens, we worked on a participatory workshop. The purpose of the workshop was to try to find answers to a series of key questions that keep arising, on our journey towards positive impact. How can we co-design an impact-driven economy in Greece, that not only is sustainable but will build a new perspective for future generations then?

The key questions that have arisen so far are:

– What are the main characteristics of an impact-driven economy?

– Which are the steps we -as the main actors of this unique ecosystem- need to take from here on?

– How can we act so that social entrepreneurship becomes an actual force behind Greek economy?

– What are the challenges that we can hack and turn them into opportunities?

– How can Greece become a prototype for rest of the world in terms of social innovation?

Here, at Impact Hub Athens we are advocates of social change in the world, seeing ourselves not only as the ambassadors of social entrepreneurship in Greece, but as a vital community that has the potential to inspire a new movement. Lotfi is without a doubt an amazing facilitator and a compelling motivational speaker. But, many of these questions are still unanswered. And it’s our job to investigate, research and work further on the challenges that will take the social economy in Greece further.

But impact cannot happen in isolation! Thank you all for joining us today and sharing with us your views, your ideas and your visions for building a new, impact-driven economy in Greece! A big thank you to Stavros Niarchos Foundation, Latsis Foundation, the Onassis Foundation, the City of Athens, the Municipality of Psychiko, The National Bank of Greece, Piraeus Bank, Reload Greece / Startup Aid, People’s Trust, the Hellenic Association for Cystic Fibrosis, Place Identity, C.ingdom, AUEB, University of Athens, Uber Shedia magazine, Solomon magazine, Dogs’ Voice, Noesi.gr, Beetroot Design Group, Six DOGS, Three Legs and a Model and everyone else who joined us today at Impact Hub Athens.
