About the 1st webinar Setting the Sail Towards Maritime Decarbonisation
This webinar will take place digitally, on the 23rd of November, at 16:00-17:00 EEST, and will serve as a compass, navigating through the regulatory waves, and offering a glimpse into practical solutions for maritime decarb compliance and beyond. We will reflect on the industry’s successes of 2023, serving as a beacon towards a greener horizon for this decade.
The session aims to frame actionable decision-making, ensuring participants leave with a clear understanding of the industry status, key regulatory drivers, and the roles of various industry stakeholders in championing the transition.
*This session is a precursor for a series of in-person, hands-on workshops that will delve beyond regulation, exploring real-world challenges and opportunities to transform industry risks into profits. The upcoming workshops aim to foster knowledge exchange and collaborative problem-solving among maritime professionals, startups, and industry stakeholders.
A few words about the instructors:
Maximilian Schroer, an M.Sc. graduate in Mechanical Engineering for Renewables from Ruhr University Bochum, swiftly excelled as a Senior Energy Transition Standards Specialist at A.P. Moller – Maersk, saving the company 200 million euros in CII compliance cost. His practical expertise, further honed by leading energy efficiency projects at PricewaterhouseCoopers and managing retrofit projects at Blohm+Voss, makes Max a seasoned guide through the maritime decarbonisation and regulatory landscape.
Gordana Ilic, with a PhD in Chemistry from Nanyang Technological University, headed decarb innovation strategy at A.P. Moller – Maersk, managing a substantial technical innovation fund towards achieving Maersk’s 2040 net zero vision. Gordana’s blend of deep tech background, entrepreneurial flair and innovative leadership allowed her to catalyse innovation in sustainability from multiple angles, including success in fostering startup-corporate collaboration though Microsoft for Startups programs, that she scaled across 20 countries.
