The EcoZani program is entering an exciting phase this December, as entrepreneurial teams across Western Macedonia continue developing innovative solutions aligned with circularity, accessibility, and climate neutrality. Together with our partners, Impact Hub Athens is supporting local talent to turn sustainable ideas into business opportunities.

After a record turnout in the 2nd Open Call, with 32 participating teams, including students, young innovators and local businesses, the program is now moving into its hackathon stage. From November 19 to December 12, teams are working on their Business Canvas, pitch preparation, and video creation with guidance from mentors and experts at the University of Western Macedonia.

On December 15, all teams will present their progress during a live pitching event at the university’s library. A jury composed of external experts and consortium members will select around 20 teams to join the next phase of the Entrepreneurial Empowerment Program, helping them refine their ideas and prepare for market entry.

Meanwhile, the 8 teams from the 1st program cycle have completed their acceleration journey and are now finalizing their product prototypes with support from Join4CS. Their solutions will be showcased during the Kozani Carnival in February 2026, marking a key milestone in their entrepreneurial path.

EcoZani continues to grow as a platform for sustainable innovation in Western Macedonia, empowering young creators and businesses to shape a greener economic future for the region.
