Accelerating Circular & NetZero Solutions, by Impact Hub Athens
With global climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution, the need for new solutions is greater than ever before. Join Impact Hub Athens’ OpenClimAccelerator Beyond 2023, which includes incubation, acceleration, and investment opportunities to mature ideas and or startups with a special focus on circular & netzero solutions and circular economy.
Our goal is to accelerate your impact, by providing entrepreneurial support, networking, and funding opportunities – grants to help companies go to the next level and scale their operations and impact.
Since 2021, Impact Hub Athens has been part of the Climate Kic, by organising the ClimAccelerator Greece!
During the past 2 years, we have:
- Supported 30 entrepreneurial solutions for a more green and circular economy solutions enabled & scaled.
- Distributed 180.000 euros in grants.
- Delivered 240 hours of consultation.
- Enabled 14 new products to launch to the market.
AREAS OF IMPACT
We particularly encourage local and international ideas or solutions on the following topics:
Natural resource conservation: how can we close the loop on physical resources in both rural and urban areas? How can we secure or initiate regenerative solutions that efficiently secure water, energy, and food for our communities while conserving our natural resources? Could these solutions work in a decentralized way and add flexibility to our systems? Are these systems based on a nature-based solution approach with low energy profiles?
Circular Economy: How can we move to more circular resource management and move away from linear models of production and consumption?
NetZeroFuture: How can we reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero as much as possible, with the remaining emissions being reabsorbed from the atmosphere, for example by the oceans and forests?
We encourage climate related ideas and solutions that come from and/or serve underrepresented communities, promote gender equality (no discrimination, percentage of femininities in leadership positions), create new and/or equitable employment opportunities, and raise awareness or actively engage local communities or, more broadly, encourage active citizenship.
A HACKATHON AS A BOOTCAMP
Bootcamp: A two-day hackathon powered by HYDROUSA, aimed at developing effective solutions to transition to a circular & net zero future. For one and a half days, you will have the opportunity to deepen your project, receive feedback from experienced mentors, and present your idea/solution to a panel of judges. At this phase three participants will have the chance to win a total of 3,000 euros and 2 months of business incubation support, while 10 participants will get tickets for STAGE A of ClimAccelarator.
STAGE A
A two month program where the selected projects can participate in diagnostic sessions and development planning, business workshops online and offline, coaching and mentoring, and have access to digital tools and resources, as well as Impact hive events. Three teams will have access to grants of 9,000 euros after an assessment process from a selected Jury committee.

The three most promising ventures of Stage A, will be supported further, focusing on their investment readiness & go to Market Strategy, with workshops & mentoring/expert consultations, including P2P mastermind sessions & 1-to-many support interventions.

We invite local & international ideas, companies, startups, university projects, non-profit organisations, associations, that are in the concept making, development phase, or already completed even if not yet commercialized, as long as they have:
Positive impact on the climate
Whether dealing with water or air quality, recycling, zero waste, environmental education or similar.
A working team and a solution
You are a team or an individual, dedicated to the project. You have a clear idea of your development and ideally some paying customers.
No problem with English
You can easily go through workshops and presentations done in English and you have no trouble talking to foreigners.
